Draft Day woes

Well today is Christmas II. I don't mean Christ was born again or anything. I simply mean it's NFL Draft day 1. That's when the good people are picked. Sadly enough, the Vikings proved to be the idiots they are and picked up some WR who is a no-name. Well, let me break it down like this: Troy Williamson was at best the 18th overall pick. Instead they wasted the 7th pick on the fool rather than the overall #1 pick(pre-draft) Mike Williams. And what are their intents with Troy (according to Randy Mueller of ESPN)? Returning kicks and punts . . . WASTE! They took speed over route-running and hands. IDIOTS! Which would you prefer? Their only decent pick was Erasmus James- but oh wait, he's injury prone. Well at least we can count on the 2nd round pick- who was projected to be Mike Nugent out of Ohio State. No, wait. . . The Jets stole him. So where do we go for the only meaningful draft-pick left? A good cornerback? A good linebacker? A safety? None! Instead the Vikings pick an Offensive Tackle. IDIOTS! Well I must get back to my underwear and sock-laiden Chrsitmas. Surely, I can hope for a good gift in the smaller and yet increasingly insignificant boxes (rounds).

Drafting Dan

You'll never get the best of me.

"Joe Gibbs drafts for either the offensive or defensive side of the ball."

I thought Troy was a better pick over Mike Williams. The Vikes needed a speedster to replace Moss to let Daunte air it out.

Burleson is a capable enough possession receiver.

As far as defensive woes, for once the Vikes addressed those problems sufficiently in free agency. They'll definitely have a new look next year, and it could be for the better.
