Come along

Today for the sake of posting I am posting. I know I over-reacted to the Vikings draft but my point was moot. I was just trying to say rather than take the best player available they took speed. I am not in charge of the draft though . . . much like with Randy Moss perhaps this kid will be a hidden talent; I can only hope he doesn't act much the same way.

I saw Enemy At The Gates. I have to write my 6 page paper on it. I also have to write my argument paper. I still need a relevant topic . . . but not a "hot issue." Back to the movie. It was a cool concept but the story lacked. It was much like Pearl Harbor. . .a love story intertwined with a war story. It wasn't as good as people said it was. The acting was very good. Ed Harris was my favorite actor in it. It took a major hit for the sex scene right in the middle of the movie's story that is unecessary. So it goes from a B+(pre-sex scene) to C-(post). It(the entire movie) could have been so much better with out that scene. I also heard from my teacher that other than the Germans, the Russians, the fact there was a Stalingrad, and a Vasili Zaitsev- the rest is bull-hockey(notice the real one looks nothing like Jude Law). Yeah, when will there be clean war-movies? I don't mind the gore and blood. It is history. But sex is unneeded in movies. And another thing why do they have to put love stories in them? Are they trying to attract women and weak-minded men to it? If I go to a war movie, I expect just that: a war movie. No sex or love stories. . . . just people's intestines laying out, limbs seperated, pools of blood. The stuff that makes war . . .hell.

Disgusted Dan

It hasn't hasn't always gone my way it doesn't mean it wasn't meant to be. It doesn't mean I've been so selfish.

Draft Day woes

Well today is Christmas II. I don't mean Christ was born again or anything. I simply mean it's NFL Draft day 1. That's when the good people are picked. Sadly enough, the Vikings proved to be the idiots they are and picked up some WR who is a no-name. Well, let me break it down like this: Troy Williamson was at best the 18th overall pick. Instead they wasted the 7th pick on the fool rather than the overall #1 pick(pre-draft) Mike Williams. And what are their intents with Troy (according to Randy Mueller of ESPN)? Returning kicks and punts . . . WASTE! They took speed over route-running and hands. IDIOTS! Which would you prefer? Their only decent pick was Erasmus James- but oh wait, he's injury prone. Well at least we can count on the 2nd round pick- who was projected to be Mike Nugent out of Ohio State. No, wait. . . The Jets stole him. So where do we go for the only meaningful draft-pick left? A good cornerback? A good linebacker? A safety? None! Instead the Vikings pick an Offensive Tackle. IDIOTS! Well I must get back to my underwear and sock-laiden Chrsitmas. Surely, I can hope for a good gift in the smaller and yet increasingly insignificant boxes (rounds).

Thus far

Well greetings to you all. I don't have much to say today. A bit of current events for Kelly and Boyum, until you post again I'm removing you both from my links. So I just felt the need to post since I haven't in 3 days. I will be informal and short (hopefully).

For the second time this semester I did my homework before I have to go to school. Usually, I procrastinate. But I always do . . . Even when I was but a child. But anyway. Today, I was happy to read a conservative paper for my writing class (we have to read essays in order to appreciate them and for inspiration for writing excellent papers). It was on how the U.S. should basically abandon the World Food Bank and tell the poor countries of the world to fend for themselves. The author refers to it as the old Chinese proverb: Give a man a fish; feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish; feed him for a life-time. As harsh as that sounds I should elaborate a bit more. WE have a technology for commodities policy for many poor countries. We teach them how to farm for large economies and an even larger population; they give us raw materials. I like it. It totally goes against our Christian beliefs, but this is the kicker. If we, as a global society, don't enforce this; we will all be in their boat. The author uses a life-boat analogy to illustrate it. Fifty people are in a life-boat, one-hundred more are in the water, you have room for 10 more; who do you let in? The answer is impossible to answer (I figure teach them all how to swim). Basically, it boils down to this: screw them but teach them to fend for themselves. If they continue to depend on the richest countries for food, their populations will continue to increase. If you give them a steady supply of food -that they produce- it will slow down their reproduction rates. I don't know how you feel, but I'm in support of it. I don't get to read many conservative papers in the class-they're mainly feminist, liberal, whiney papers- for once in a semester long class it's good to read something that supports me. Well I guess I've babbled on long enough, I said short . . . I lied. Oh yeah I miss my mustache (it wasn't much but it was all I had).

Injustice

Ok, the last post was unfair to you, my readers. So I decided to give you some extra expressions. Ok, maybe I won't give expressions. I may give some memories or some other thing. I am mainly posting because that last post sucked lemons.

So I am listening to some Insyders "Skalleluia", and it is decent, but not a POD- "Satellite", calibur cd. But then again what other CD gave great hits like "Ghetto" and "Boom"? I mean for football there is no better song for getting in the mood to lay someone out -cleanly. But yeah, I still need to decide on a movie to do for my project, for WWII. Any suggestions? I will consider them. I also need to focus on a topic for my argument paper for Freshman Comp. I'd like to do a humorous topic for this one. My other papers were too serious . . . as one kid put it "Dry to read."

Well I guess that's enough rambling for now: that should fulfill your hunger to look into my life. Yep, Yep, Mm-mmmm. I think I'm gonna go try and nap before tonight. Or as the french say "WHAAAAA!! WHAAAAAA!! WHAAAAAAAA!!" (please note that is a rough translation of English to French)

Some more french for you all, "Whaaaaaaa! Whaaaaaaaa! Whimper . . . whimper. Boo-hoo."

Denial

A "Shout out" to all my "Peeps!" I'm sorry for not posting the last few days, but you all know how busy school can get or not for that matter. I've just been delaying it . . . "I'll do it tomorrow." I've been ill though with a cold/allergies. Praise God, I'm finally doing better (with the exception of some bloody noses for no reasons. Perhaps it's a Ralph Wiggum "sitch" I'm either not picking it enough or too much. My guess is that it's dry.). I don't know if that is the correct punctiation, "HELP ME, GRAMMAR POLICE!!". I'm sure this is. But anyhow. . .

We were finally given our class project in WWII. We have to watch a WWII movie and write a 6-8 page review of it; not to be confused with a report. I want to do it on the mini-series "Band of Brothers." There is one problem though; I need to get a copy of it. So if any readers have a copy just laying around, may I borrow it? Pretty, pretty please with a cherry on top? You'll be my best friend. I'll even let you borrow my Stretch Armstrong. Ya know his arms & legs can stretch forever! Well I think I've done enough whatever you want to call this whining, complaining, ranting, whatever. And for no reason Coke Monkey (Sorry, it's my ultimate picture).

One and All

Greetings to the aforementioned. Despite taking about 2000 mg of Vitamin C pills a day, drinking Green Tea, along with 100% pure Orange Juice with no sugar, anti-histamine pills, and the addition of some nasal spray to clear my nose; I am still feeling the effects of illness and discomfort. This really sucks. I decided I'm going to blame the school once more for my illness. If their classrooms (or classtombs as they shall forever be known by as of right now) weren't so Gosh-danged hot I would never get sick. It's obvious to me that I've only been sick twice this entire winter thanks to well above average temperature classtombs (90 degrees and above), that may sound odd to you but please take this into consideration. I wore shorts all winter long and was not sick once until the first day of the Spring Semester. I know I'm not wrong in that assumption. HCC truely stnads for Hell's Community College. I'm going to go rest now. That Nasal Spray made me all queasy. It's just the thought of putting something in my nose and spraying it. Very disturbing. So now I go rest, put some Cloud 2 Ground on because when I'm sick I like soft techno, & you comment so we'll all be happy.

Debilitated Dan

P.S. I finally saw Napoleon Dynamite and absolutely hi-freakin-larious.

A truely good person

Today humanity lost a truely good person. Despite your religious beliefs and denominations, you should recognize a man that was totally devoted to God. I personally believe that this was a very "Reagan-esque" man. He wasn't afraid of anything. He stood up to Communism very much the same way Ol' Ronnie did. For those who don't know much about the late Pope's life, he lost both of his parents at an early age (along with his brother). He attended his seminary during the Nazi occupation of Poland. He was turned in to the SS by a fellow student and didn't budge an inch on his faith. He lived through an assassination attempt or two. But as big as those accomplishments are I think this is his greatest. In the 1990's the Pontiff made a visit to Cuba. While there, he was in one of his famous processionals and saw a small homeless child sitting alongside the road. He stopped the whole caravan of cars, got out of his "Pope-mobile" and sat down with the kid and spoke with him. In doing so, I think he said more to Fidel than America has in 40 years. I believe he showed Castro the importance of the young and what really matters in lide. He also did more for Christian-Jewish relations than any Pope before him. He also apologized for the Catholic stance on teh Holocaust. He was a pioneer and a role model. All he wanted was to see Christ and do the Lord's work . . . what an inspiration.

I also got to thinking today. I've been watching the whole ordeal for a few days now. I noticed something today; in the process of two days we as a country and as a people have seen the two extremes of a death. Terri Shiavo was forced to die a death that is beyond inhumane. And she suffered. The Pontiff wanted to go home to his apartment and spend his last few days there. He suffered also (according to the sources on the news). He has said before suffering is a beautiful thing. That stuck with me and I think I finally got what he means. This is my revelation. He being a Christian and knowing the Word of God in something like 17 languages, had to know he was a sinner. Daily he sinned and for each sin- Christ suffered to forgive it. I think the suffering a human goes through before death was beautiful to him because it was as much we could do to honor Christ and get a glimpse of the suffering he went through, as human beings. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I didn't put it clear enough. I know what I'm saying in my mind I just don't think it came out right. But here's a shout out John Paul.

Melodic Parabolic

GREETINGS! It is finally Spring outside. Which means that S.A.D. is over. It is a bright sunny day outside. It kind of makes me want to go outside and plant some apple trees. But that would be copying Johnny. So perhaps I'll go plant some Kumquats or something cool like Coconuts. That'd be sweet.

I want this post to be both a funny one but yet with a hint of seriousness and I couldn't quite think of a way to do it. So I will do it like this. Capitol Naziism is wrong like an elephant having a Benz.

I've been playing a lot of The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time lately. I think I'm actually getting half decent at it.

Rustproof's got a blog now. Tonight is the Coffee House. We're gonna live it up.

My hair glue is finally washed out of my hair. It was in for like 48+ hours. Well I don't really have anything new to say other than if you speak Spanish and read my last post I'm sorry for the poor translation of the message. Well I think I'm outtie.
